Greens on Screen started its life in 1999 before many of the football sites that we are familiar with today, including Plymouth Argyle's own official site. Greens on Screen is dedicated to the sights, sounds and history of Plymouth Argyle Football club. It is owned and run by the Plymouth Argyle Heritage Archive, a charity dedicated to the promotion, preservation, and display of the heritage of our great football club.

The site owes its existence to Steve Dean. Without Steve's dedication and commitment for over 25 years, GoS would not exist and be the valued and loved resource for all football fans that it is today. The site is truly the envy of many clubs, and we owe a huge debt to Steve for his tireless work, and continued support behind the scenes.

Greens on Screen's first page was published in January 1999. Its early purpose was to bring Plymouth Argyle a little closer to those unable to see their team, and whilst it has changed a great deal over the years, its core themes - sights and sounds for Westcountry exiles - still stand. The site was very lucky to take on the content of Trevor Scallan's Semper Viridis in the summer of 2007, and in 2009 launched GoS-DB, a wealth of facts and figures from PAFC's history. A year later, we embarked on a complete history of Argyle, with much-valued contributions from chapter authors. Greens on Screen was taken over by its new custodians, The Argyle Archive, in 2024.

Greens on Screen is an amateur website and proud of it. It is run by a team of volunteers from the Plymouth Argyle Heritage Archive (Argyle Archive). Without the hard work and much-valued contributions of these volunteers, running the site would not be possible. Greens on Screen is self-taught and as a result, a little bit quirky.

Greens on Screen remains advertisement free, which means we are grateful for the generous support of our donors and the work of our volunteers to help keep it free of promotions. If you would like to support the work of Greens on Screen, please consider donating to the Plymouth Argyle Heritage Archive.

GoS's sole aim is to be a service to fellow supporters, and we look forward to continuing to celebrate Argyle'ss history for many years to come.

Saturday 31st January 2026

Argyle fell to their first defeat in 2026, after Stockport County won late at Edgeley Park in Sky Bet League One. Despite taking the lead through Caleb Watts, the hosts came from behind to beat the Greens thanks to a pair of strikes from Kyle Wootton.

Argyle: Ashby-Hammond, Ross, Wiredu, Edwards, Mitchell, Watts (Amaechi), Boateng, Galloway (MacKenzie), Pepple, Curtis, Sorinola (Dale). Substitutes (not used): Baker, Paterson, Oseni, Roberts.

Congratulations to Argyle Women's Head Coach, Marie Hourihan, for recently completing her DipHE Football Coaching Programme with the Premier League.

Argyle have been awarded Gold in the EFL Equality Code of Practice, putting them among the top-ranked clubs in the EFL. Having received a Silver in July 2024, Argyle have now been upgraded as the result of improvement in all areas.

The Club went under a rigorous assessment with the Code of Practice providing a framework towards legislative compliance around inclusion and anti-discrimination issues.

The Code assesses a club's culture and policies, including the reporting and management of incidents on a match day, and the services provided to the local community to engage in activities.

Tom Cleverley rued his side's missed chances against Mansfield Town as Argyle conceded an equaliser and the game finished 1-1.

"We need to be more clinical," he said. "I don't think we'll put in many more dominant performances than that first half of football. To go in at 1-1, we've let them off the hook. The overriding feeling is two points dropped, and a massive disappointment in there, which shows you how far we've come in 10, 12 weeks.

"I think we would have been delighted with a point at home against a strong Mansfield side, but where we've come and where we're wanting to go, we're really disappointed that we've dominated the game and come away with only a point.

"I didn't think we kept the rhythm in the game well enough, or as much as we did first half. We didn't create as much, but we've certainly created in the last three games enough to give me a lot of hope moving forward.

"We were probably more dominant in the last three league games than we were against Burton, where it was 3-0. We're doing a lot of good things. Structurally, all the basics are there from a defensive perspective, there's a lot of sustainable things in these performances that I'm seeing.

"The problem you'd most likely like to have as a coach is that last action, the one that puts the ball in the net."

27th

The story of Argyle's 1-1 draw with Mansfield Town had, to a degree, been coming. For the third game in a row, Argyle were excellent in the first half and took the lead, this time through a distance shot from Bim Pepple. As with their recent 1-0 wins over Peterborough United and Luton Town, Argyle did not add to their tally, despite their dominance. But, unlike those games, they conceded an equaliser, with Ryan Sweeney scoring for Mansfield late in the first half. A tired looking Argyle could not generate as many chances in the second period, and the game rather petered out. A number of missed and suspect decisions by referee, Will Finnie, rather marred proceedings.

Argyle: Ashby-Hammond, Ross, Wiredu, Edwards, Mitchell, Watts (Oseni), Boateng, Galloway, Pepple, Curtis, Sorinola (Amaechi). Substitutes (not used): Baker, MacKenzie, Szucs, Paterson, Roberts.

Attendance 14,131 (527 away).

26th

Happy birthday to defender, Julio Pleguezuelo who is 29 today. Julio, the first Spaniard to play for Argyle, has so far made 70 appearances in Green in all competitions, though his selection has recently been marred by injury.

Tom Cleverley has been handed a one-match touchline ban and a 2,000 fine for misconduct. The Argyle boss received a red card during the team's Vertu Trophy victory at Bristol Rovers on 13 January. He will serve the ban during tomorrow night's home fixture against Mansfield and be back in the dugout for the away game at Stockport County on Saturday.

Zak Baker has been recalled from his loan with Plymouth Parkway to provide cover for the goalkeeping position while Conor Hazard is injured.

Women's Head Coach, Marie Hourihan, was delighted with her side's emphatic 9-0 win over Billericay yesterday, but felt that the first-half performance could have been improved upon in the second half.

"We went 6-0 up in the first half, and I thought, for 25 minutes, we were exceptional," Hourihan told Argyle TV. "We did all the things we spoke about beforehand. We scored four goals within that period, and some of them were very good. That was obviously very pleasing to go in at the break with that lead, but in my mind, it was a case of us keeping our foot on the gas to keep in contention with the top two, looking at goal difference as well as a big factor.

"To finish the game 9-0, from the outside looking in, everyone would be pleased, and it's a very good scoreline, but from our perspective, we've got to be more clinical in some of those moments and recognise that our decision making at times needs to be more refined. I think that is the best way of putting it.

"No game is a given. It's easy to get casual at times, and, for me, it was important that it didn't happen. Come the end of the season, goal difference could be a huge factor. We've come here today, scored some excellent goals, and kept that clean sheet."

25th

Argyle Women scored a stunning 9-0 away victory over Billericay Women in FAWNL South - their biggest win in seven years.

A hat-trick from Una Lue; two each for Tianna Teisar and Olivia Francis and goals from Katie Wilson and Ellie Noble did the damage.

Argyle are now second in the table, two points behind leaders Watford, but with a superior +32 goal difference. Bournemouth are third, but have played two games fewer.

A happier Tom Cleverley gave his reaction to his side's fourth win and clean sheet on the trot after their 1-0 home victory over Luton yesterday, calling the win 'enjoyable'.

"The key is why we're performing so consistently, and we don't come away from that," explained Cleverley, after the game, speaking to Argyle TV. "The players have been hungry and humble in their training, and I think that's showing in the performances. Yes, we're technically playing well, yes, we're showing quality, but we're winning duels, winning second balls, sustaining attacks, playing with high intensity. These are the things that ensure you always hit a certain level, which we're at right now.

"I thought it was quite enjoyable to watch aside from the fact that we won, obviously.

"We had enough chances to be three or four up. If I'm being picky, the disappointment in the last two games is that they were 10. They should've been three or four, games out of sight. ..[But] if we hadn't won that game, it would've been a huge disappointment.

It remains to be seen how significant the injuries to Ralls, Wiredu and Tolaj are - the first two named are not expected to be fit for the visit of Mansfield Town to Home Park on Tuesday evening.

24th

Argyle made it three league wins in a row with victory against Luton Town at Home Park in Sky Bet League One. Brendan Galloway scored the game's only goal on the stroke of half-time, though there could and perhaps should have been several more. It was another defensively sound display from the Pilgrims, marred only by injuries to Ralls, Wiredu, and Tolaj who continued to the end of the game with a dead leg as all the substations had been used up.

Argyle have done the double over the Hatters, having beaten them 3-2 at Kenilworth Road on 13 September and have now won six and drawn two of their last nine league games.

Argyle: Hazard, Ross, Edwards, Tolaj, Mitchell, Boateng, Galloway, Pepple (Szucs), Curtis, Sorinola, Ralls (Wiredu (Watts)). Substitutions (not used): Ashby-Hammond, Paterson, Amaechi, Benarous.

Man of the Match - Ronan Curtis.

Today's fixture against Luton Town has been designated the latest Project 35 fixture. Fans are asked to bring donations of non-perishable foodstuffs - and money - to the collection point outside the Devonport End.

23rd

Nineteen-year-old attacking Argyle player, Joe Hatch, has gone to Torquay United on a one-month loan.

22nd

Centre back, Alex Mitchell, will remain a Pilgrim for the rest of the 2025-26. Tom Cleverley announced that the deadline of 16 January by which his parent Club, Charlton Athletic, could recall him, had passed.

Argyle could have up to three players back and ready for the home fixture against Mansfield Town next Tuesday (28 January). The two Owens - Dale and Oseni are back in training, while defender Jack MacKenzie could make his long-awaited debut for the Pilgrims, not having played since he joined last summer.

Tom Cleverley has said that Kornel Szucs is in his plans, despite the Hungarian international defender not having played for the first XI since 29 November.

Cleverley said that he sees Szucs as a full-back rather than a centre back.

"I like Kornel, I like his attributes," Cleverley said.

"Kornel's got an excellent attitude, he shows to me every day he wants to improve and he wants to be there when called up on.

"There's a lot about Kornel that I like and we work on the areas that I think he can improve at.

"Like anyone else, he's given the same platform as anyone to get in this team. Right now it's probably more how well the guys in his area of the pitch are playing."

20th

Today marks two years since the launch of Forever Green.

The scheme celebrates every player that has pulled on the Argyle shirt, honouring each name with their own legacy number.

In its first two years, Forever Green has given 81 presentation packs to former players, and presented special plaques to the first-team squads of the 2024-25 and 2025-26 seasons, which are inscribed with their legacy numbers.

Forever Green also maintains a fund, which is available to assist with the pastoral care of all members.

Sixteen Argyle legends have been awarded 'Icon' status, with some being inducted into this class at Hall of Fame nights at the stadium, which have raised further money for the fund. Two more icons will be added, at the conclusion of this year's vote.

19th

Tom Cleverley has been charged with misconduct by the FA after having been sent off in the Vertu Trophy game at Bristol Rovers on 13 January--the second time he has been red carded this season.

Bristol Rovers' boss, Steve Evans, has also received a charge, having been dismissed after the final whistle.

Cleverley had objected to what he saw as the wrong free kick decision against Lorent Tolaj for which he received a caution. Then, seated in the dug out, he whacked the side in frustration and was given a second yellow, leading to the red.

Both Cleverley and Evans have until 21 January to appeal.

18th

Argyle Women had a convincing 5-0 victory against Marine Academy Plymouth in the County Cup at Foulston Park. Goals came from Una Lue, Tamara Wilcock, Giota Papioannou, Paris Dalton and Tianna Teisar.

17th

Argyle made it seven games unbeaten on the road with a hard-fought victory against Peterborough United at the Weston Homes Stadium, in Sky Bet League One. Bim Pepple scored the game's only goal, his second in as many games, midway through the first half.

Argyle: Hazard, Ross, Edwards, Tolaj (Szucs), Mitchell, Boateng, Galloway, Pepple (Watts), Curtis, Sorinola (Wiredu), Ralls. Substitutes (not used): Ashby-Hammond, Paterson, Amaechi, Benarous.

Argyle Under-18s started 2026 in the best possible way, picking up three points with a 3-1 victory over Bristol Rovers on Saturday afternoon.

Goals from Billy Devlin, Frankie Maund, and Joe Hatch propelled the Greens to victory at Millennium Fields.

Head Coach Jamie Lowry said: "A  really good start to the year. Great to get the game on and have such a pleasing performance.

"We expected that the boys would tire a little bit, but we wanted them to empty the tank. I thought their quality, decision making, and the energy in and out of possession were excellent.

"...there were some good bits of play and some real positive performances today."

Argyle: 1 Jack Flower, 2 Harry Shield (12 Lewis Flowers, 46), 3 Malachi Davy, 4 Billy Devlin, 5 Sam Hayman, 6 Toby Maclean, 7 Tashall Sandhu, 8 Sam Lord (capt), 9 Frankie Maund, 10 Joe Hatch (15 Trialist B, 79), 11 Fletcher Poole (16 Kian Burch, 62). Substitutes: 23 Leo McCormick (gk), Trialist A.

16th

Goalkeeper, Zak Baker, has joined Plymouth Parkway on a three-month loan.

Happy birthday to Caleb Watts who is 24 years-old today.

And to recent loanee, Law McCabe who turns 20 today.

There is good news about the progress of Jack MacKenzie. The left back has not yet featured for the Greens since joining from Aberdeen in the summer, due to injury. But Tom Cleverley says he could be ready to play by the end of this month.

15th

The Club has confirmed the departure of Bali Mumba to Huddersfield for an undisclosed fee, but thought to be in the region of the 1m that Argyle paid for him when he signed from Norwich--first on loan in summer 2022 and then permanently in July 2023.

Bali made a total of 170 appearances in Green, scoring nine goals.

Director Football, Derek Adams, commented: "Bali has been an incredible servant to the football club, forming an integral part of the side who clinched the League One title with 101 points.

"He expressed a desire to move on to the next stage of his career, and the club would never stand in his way after all his contributions to Argyle over the years.

"All parties felt it was the best thing to allow him to move on to a new opportunity and he will always be welcome back at Home Park whenever he wishes."

We at Greens on Screen wish him well, along with much of the Argyle fanbase.

Signing a centre back has become the transfer priority, according to Head Coach, Tom Cleverley.

Julio Pleguezuelo is sidelined by a calf injury until February and Brendan Galloway has made a successful recent move to left-back, while Kornel Szucs and Brendan Wiredu are viewed by Cleverley as a right-back and central midfielder respectively. This leaves only Matthias Ross and Alex Mitchell, who's subject to a recall by Charlton Athletic, as central defenders.

14th

Some changes have been announced to the start of the 2026-27 EFL football season.

The first weekend (7-9 August) will see the first round of the Carabao Cup, with the opening fixtures of the Championship, Leagues One and Two the following weekend (14-16 August).

Further, there will be a single, three-week international break between 21 September and 6 October, replacing the two two-week breaks in September and October this term.

13th

Bim Pepple was the last-gasp hero in a seven-goal thriller against Bristol Rovers in the Vertu Trophy, with newcomer, Ronan Curtis, notching three assists in his debut game, and Tom Cleverley once again being sent off after remonstrating with the referee for giving a decision against Tolaj. The Greens took an early lead through Caleb Watts before Rovers pegged them back, Shaq Forde the scorer. Fabrizio Cavegn finished well to give his side the lead, before a quick-fire Argyle double at the start of the second-half, courtesy of Brendan Galloway and Lorent Tolaj, flipped the game on its head. Luke Thomas levelled the game once again just after the hour mark; however, it would be substitute, Bim Pepple, who would steal the show, netting a stoppage-time winner to send Argyle into the quarter-finals. Attendance: 2548 (945 Greens).

Argyle: Ashby-Hammond, Ross, Wiredu (Ralls), Edwards, Tolaj, Amaechi (Paterson), Mitchell, Watts (Pepple), Boateng, Curtis, Sorinola (Galloway). Substitutes (not used): Hazard, Szucs, Finn.

Rumours are swirling that Bali Mumba is to leave Argyle and sign for League One rivals, Huddersfield Town, with the news being reported both by Sky and by Chris Errington.

12th

Marie Hourihan was delighted with her side's reaction to their league defeat last weekend by scoring three goals without reply in their win at Lewes FC yesterday.

"Today was a fantastic performance," Hourihan told Argyle TV. "We spoke after last weekend and wanted a reaction today. I thought from minute one, with and without the ball, we were excellent. The intensity, tempo and our press were all spot on today. The only disappointment for me was that we weren't 3-, 4-, or 5-0 up at half-time because I think the performance level deserved and warranted it.

"In the second half, we knew that they'd come out and be a bit more aggressive, and press with a bit more intent, and we controlled that really well and created two or three really good opportunities. I'm happy, though. We've scored three goals, kept a clean sheet, and we're through to the semi-final.

"An important thing for me was - we've conceded a lot of goals recently, which we weren't happy with - we didn't give Lewes a chance today. That was a really pleasing aspect for me. I knew we would get the reaction, but it was more about the consistency of performance level across 90 minutes.

"These moments don't always come around, so we need to appreciate the fact we've progressed to a semi-final again, but we need to focus our attention now back into county cup and league action before that game comes around.

"Overall, we've come here, it's been freezing cold, absolutely hammering it down with rain, and we've managed those conditions really well. That intensity and performance level with the conditions, the travel and everything else, was really pleasing today."

The draw for the semi-final of the FAWNL Cup will be this evening. The competition is no longer regionalised. Burnley from the Northern section are the only other team through. Argyle's potential other opponents are Swindon, Bournemouth, Wolves and WBA, whose games were postponed.

Argyle will host Burnley at Home Park in the semi-final on Sunday 1 February.

There is better news about the recovery from ankle injuries for the two Owens - Dale and Oseni, but Julio Pleguezuelo remains sidelined with a calf injury.

11th

Argyle Women bounced back from their disappointing home League loss to Watford last Sunday with a smart 3-0 victory in the quarter-final of the FAWNL Cup against Lewes at the delightfully named Dripping Pan. Goals from Phoebie Poole (2) and Tianna Teisar secured the win and a passage to the semi-final.

10th

Argyle have made their first signing of this transfer window with the acquisition of Ronan Curtis from Port Vale on a two-and-a-half year deal. Curtis will link up on the pitch with his former teammate Lorent Tolaj.

The 29-year-old started his career in Northern Ireland at Derry City. He went on to join Portsmouth for whom he made 184 appearances and scored 42 goals. From there, he joined AFC Wimbledon on a short-term contract, before signing for the Valiants in the summer of 2024.

Head Coach, Tom Cleverley is delighted to bring Curtis to Home Park: "We are really pleased to bring Ronan to the club.

"He has played most of his English career at League One level so has knowledge and experience of the division which will only benefit the group of players we have here.

"I am delighted we have been able to bring further quality into the squad so early in the window and I want to thank the Board, Derek and the recruitment team for acting so swiftly."

Director of Football, Derek Adams, added: "Ronan is proven at this level and will add real competition for places to Tom's squad.

"He offers excellent quality in the wide areas, providing goals and assists wherever he has been.

"Alongside that, he is a direct, exciting winger who the Green Army will enjoy watching, and we are really happy to bring him to Argyle."

Curtis will wear the number 28 shirt. The transfer is subject to EFL approval.

8th

Defender Alex Mitchell has been named CTI Player of the Month for December.

7th

The latest iteration of the Argyle Podcast features former player, Ben Tozer. There is a link for listening on the Club website.

Fans are now invited to vote for the two remaining spaces - one from each group. The names are:

Group One: Moses Russell; Jack Chisholm; Jack Cock; Maurice Tadman; Johnny Williams; Ray Bowden; Steve Davey;

John Uzzell.

Group Two: Gordon Nisbet; Steve McCall; Steve Castle; Mick Heathcote; Ronnie Mauge; Michael Evans; Romain Larrieu; David Norris.

Voting is now open, and will conclude at 6pm on Thursday, 5 February.

For more details about each candidate, and how to vote, see the official website: https://www.pafc.co.uk/news/mariner-carey-and-newman-become-forever-green-icons

Freddie Issaka has returned to Home Park from his loan spell with Bristol Rovers, by mutual consent. Since being at the Gas, he has struggled for playing opportunities.

5th

Tom Cleverley pronounced himself 'very pleased' with the comfortable 3-0 victory over Burton Albion.

"I thought we were well worthy of the three points. We gave the players a challenge to be as positive as we could be from minute one and we hit the crossbar in the first minute. We had 12 shots in the first half, I think, three on target, five corners.

"We really put them under pressure and repeated that in the second half. We were always in control of the game; we've not done enough of that this season.

"You don't want to see your team just controlling the ball and passing it for the sake of it. I felt, in the first half, we maybe went back too often when we didn't need to, so we can always be better.

"But I think the control of the football today, most of the time, resulted in putting their box under pressure and putting their goal under pressure. That's the key. We have to be a real purposeful team while trying to be in control."

From the last seven games, Argyle have 14 points from four wins, two draws and a defeat. Commenting on the Greens' form in the last 10 games, which included the win at Port Vale on 22 November. Cleverley said: "[In the] last 10 games, 17 points: that's top-six form. Over a long period of time, we've shown top-six form maybe in four- or five-game periods, but to do it over 10 now really feels like we're going in the right direction."

On-loan, England under-20 international midfielder, Law McCabe, is returning to his parent club, Middlesbrough.

Happy 25th birthday to our number 10, Xavi Amaechi.

Women's Head Coach, Marie Hourihan, was disappointed with the outcome of the FAWNL vital clash at Home Park yesterday afternoon in which her side lost 1-3 to rivals, Watford.

"We are all obviously very disappointed right now," Hourihan told Argyle TV. "I was happy with our first-half performance.

"I think we were in good control and, other than a corner towards the end, literally the last kick before the first half, they didn't really cause us too many problems. The message at half-time was pretty much: 'look, expect a reaction. You're going to get a reaction from them.'

"In the opening stages of the second half, they probably had a little bit more momentum but, in terms of creating opportunities, we were still in good control, but I felt that over the last 20 minutes, our decision-making was a problem...

"To lose, after being one goal up, is a bit of a pill to swallow, but it's something now that we've got to take on the chin. We didn't manage those last 15 minutes of the game when we could have done a lot better.

"It is what it is, though: that's football. The next game comes around thick and fast, and we need to respond."

4th

Argyle fans are asked to be in their places by 2.45 this afternoon when tributes will be paid to all those Greens who have passed in the last year.

Argyle picked up a pleasing, comfortable 3-0 victory over Burton Albion, kicking off 2026 at Home Park in ideal fashion. Lorent Tolaj hit the bar after 50 seconds; Brendan Galloway scored after 21 minutes, with two more goals added after the break from substitute Mathias Ross on 63', and a penalty from Lorent Tolaj on 77'.

Argyle: Hazard, Pleguezuelo (Ross), Edwards, Tolaj, Amaechi (Sorinola), Mumba, Mitchell (Finn), Boateng, Galloway, Pepple (Watts), Ralls (Wiredu). Substitutes (not used): Ashby-Hammond, Paterson.

3rd

Midfielder, Joe Ralls, has signed an extension to his contract until the end of the season.

Argyle Women fell to a disappointing 3-1 defeat by Watford, despite taking a first-half lead through Una Lue.

Three goals from Watford in the final 15 minutes of the game, through a Madison Perry brace and an Isabella Fisher strike, handed the visiting side three points, which lifted Watford above the Greens.

Argyle: 1 Hermione Cull, 2 Una Lue, 6 Layla Proctor, 9 Phoebie Poole, 11 Roisin Kivel (capt), 14 Katie Wilson, 16 Ella Stephens, 19 Ellie Noble, 23 Olivia Francis (7 Charlotte Whitmore, 82), 24 Tianna Teisar (15 Tamara Wilcock, 75), 26 Arabella Suttie. Substitutes: 21 Eilish Brogan (gk), 3 Phoebe Hampson, 5 Giota Papaioannou, 17 Paris Dalton, 30 Chloe Ingrouille.

Goal: Lue 28.

Yellow cards: Wilson 27, Proctor 50.

The attendance was a commendable 1,495 - the highest for a Women's game this season.

2nd

Tom Cleverley was pleased and relieved at Argyle's New Year's Day draw with Stevenage but frustrated by the performance at times.

"I don't think we take a point six, eight weeks ago," Cleverley said, after the game. "We're becoming more and more hard to beat...

"We were certainly the dominant side; we just crave a complete performance and what that can do to us, whether that's concentration, whether that's fitness levels in a tough, congested period.

"We got punished for the 20-minute period [after the break]. We were flat, but we responded well and finished the game strong.

"We knew there'd be a response for them and then it's all about matching that, which I didn't feel we did. I was pleased with the first-half performance. It's one of those away performances that you think we just needed to score when we were on top.

"We limited them to one shot on our goal and we had six; we hit the woodwork. On another day you go in 2-0 up. That's what Stevenage do. They manage to frustrate, they keep shots at both ends to a very limited number and are very difficult to play against when they go 1-0 up."

Cleverley was naturally happy with the return of Caleb Watts.

"I thought Caleb Watts' intensity and impact was outstanding and it was a really important goal to keep our momentum," he said.

"Intensity at any level of football is really important, and he brings that. The impact of substitutes the last two games have got us results.

"We've missed too many big players for us this season, let's be honest. Caleb, in the six games he's played, scored two goals. I'm not sure if he had an assist. In his seventh appearance today, he's got an assist. As far as creativity and productivity, he'd be right up there with the best in our team, if not the best players in the league. Unfortunately, we've not had him available for enough time and that goes for so many of our players."

Argyle's recent form has been inconsistent. On the one hand, they have only two points out of a possible nine from the Christmas and New Year periods to date. On the other, they have only lost one game in the last six.

Cleverley is keen to work on scoring first, and also to get a result at Home Park, something that has been elusive of late.

"[Coming from behind] is one of those boxes that we've ticked. Now we know what the last one is and that's our home form. On the road, the last five away games: four wins and a draw. We know where we're falling short.

"There's a lot of work going into trying to put that right...

"We said to the boys before today, we've got 10 points in our last five league games, if we can replicate that in our next five league games, we'll be sitting in a much more comfortable position, that's for sure."

1st

Happy New Year from your Greens on Screen diarist who hopes the team will also celebrate the 53rd birthday of legend, former striker, Mickey (Trigger) Evans with three points today.

Brendan Galloway will be available for selection in the first-team game at Stevenage this afternoon, having returned from AFCON where his side, Zimbabwe, were eliminated in the group stages.
