Greens on Screen started its life in 1999 before many of the football sites that we are familiar with today, including Plymouth Argyle's own official site. Greens on Screen is dedicated to the sights, sounds and history of Plymouth Argyle Football club. It is owned and run by the Plymouth Argyle Heritage Archive, a charity dedicated to the promotion, preservation, and display of the heritage of our great football club.

The site owes its existence to Steve Dean. Without Steve's dedication and commitment for over 25 years, GoS would not exist and be the valued and loved resource for all football fans that it is today. The site is truly the envy of many clubs, and we owe a huge debt to Steve for his tireless work, and continued support behind the scenes.

Greens on Screen's first page was published in January 1999. Its early purpose was to bring Plymouth Argyle a little closer to those unable to see their team, and whilst it has changed a great deal over the years, its core themes - sights and sounds for Westcountry exiles - still stand. The site was very lucky to take on the content of Trevor Scallan's Semper Viridis in the summer of 2007, and in 2009 launched GoS-DB, a wealth of facts and figures from PAFC's history. A year later, we embarked on a complete history of Argyle, with much-valued contributions from chapter authors. Greens on Screen was taken over by its new custodians, The Argyle Archive, in 2024.

Greens on Screen is an amateur website and proud of it. It is run by a team of volunteers from the Plymouth Argyle Heritage Archive (Argyle Archive). Without the hard work and much-valued contributions of these volunteers, running the site would not be possible. Greens on Screen is self-taught and as a result, a little bit quirky.

Greens on Screen remains advertisement free, which means we are grateful for the generous support of our donors and the work of our volunteers to help keep it free of promotions. If you would like to support the work of Greens on Screen, please consider donating to the Plymouth Argyle Heritage Archive.

GoS's sole aim is to be a service to fellow supporters, and we look forward to continuing to celebrate Argyle'ss history for many years to come.

Happy Birthday to the Senior Greens who were formed on 25 February 1993.

Argyle play League One rivals, Luton Town, in the quarter-finals of the Vertu Trophy this evening at Kenilworth Road, with a kick-off time of 7pm.

Lacklustre, short on the basics and second best, was Tom Cleverley's assessment of Argyle's 2-1 defeat by Luton Town in the Vertu Trophy quarter-finals. Argyle started brightly, but went behind to an early goal from Isiah Jones which left the score 1-0 at the break. However, a goal from nowhere by substitute Tegan Finn into an empty net, put the Greens level, only for heartbreak in the 89th minute when a conceded penalty was converted by Jordan Clark. Argyle were without top scorer, Lorent Tolaj, who had tweaked his previous leg injury. To compound this, Brendan Wiredu had 'abdominal and pelvic' issues in the warm up and had to be replaced in the line up by Bradley Ibrahim. Further, Owen Dale had suffered a knock in training and did not travel, leaving the squad short, necessitating two GK substitutes on the bench. The Greens exit to the team who had lost to Swindon in the previous round but had only remained in the competition as their hosts had fielded two ineligible players.

Argyle: 1 Conor Hazard, 2 Mathias Ross, 8 Joe Edwards (capt) (5 Julio Pleguezuelo, 90), 10 Xavier Amaechi (17 Caleb Watts, 46), 15 Alex Mitchell, 19 Malachi Boateng, 23 Bradley Ibrahim (3 Jack MacKenzie, 46), 27 Bim Pepple, 28 Ronan Curtis, 29 Matty Sorinola (39 Tegan Finn, 65), 45 Wes Harding. Substitutes: 13 Zak Baker (gk), 21 Luca Ashby-Hammond (gk).

Goals: Finn 77

Booked: Edwards 55, Ross 88, Hazard 89

The injury to midfielder, Herbie Kane, is not as bad as initially feared and he could return in time for the home fixture against Doncaster Rovers on 7 March. However, he will miss the Vertu Trophy game against Luton Town tomorrow and Saturday's away match at Rotherham United.

The additional tickets for Reading away have been sold. Some 2,936 Greens will head to the Select Car Leasing Stadium on 14 March.

"It was outstanding," Cleverley told Argyle TV after his side's demolition of Cardiff City yesterday. "The players really delivered today. I'm so proud of them, the work they've put in to build up to a performance like that against a top opponent. The best atmosphere we've experienced and our best result. A really good day at the office.

"It was a brave game plan today, and the players had to be brave to deliver it. It's the type of game plan that, if you lose a duel or you lose a 1v1, you're opened up. They did it a couple of times to us, and we paid the price, certainly on one occasion, but the turnovers and what that was creating for us, on the front foot, the territory on the pitch, the chances and transitions - it was worth the risk.

"This is how I want my teams to play. There's one thing I took from Sir Alex [Ferguson], you don't want a bored crowd. They've suffered that a little bit this year, and we had [to play in a different style] to grind out some results. We don't want to concede a goal at that end, even of that quality - but I did think 'this is football, this is entertainment, this is edge-of-your-seat' and thankfully it's us that's come out on the right side.

"It's been one of the big reasons for the turnaround, the system change that gets two strikers into the team. Two really productive players who have got a lot to their game, in and out of possession. The fact that the pair of them got braces and didn't get man of the match pays credit to our skipper!

"We spoke about it in the week that we're always better against the teams that come out, and Cardiff don't play any games to draw. They come out, they try and attack you and they will be expansive.

"We've been successful against those teams. Now, what we need to do here, is the teams that sit in a little bit more, Mansfield in the second half, Wimbledon: these games, That's the final piece where we can break those teams down and really suffocate those teams. Then we'll be winning a lot more than we're losing here."

Argyle Women kept up their challenge at the top end of the FAWNL South table by beating Wimbledon Women at the Cherry Red Records stadium. Goals from Ellie Noble and Tamara Wilcock ensured a 2-0 victory - their second in a week. Argyle still sit second, a point behind Watford who have a game in hand and four ahead of Bournemouth who have played three games fewer than the Greens.

Argyle: 1 Hermione Cull, 2 Una Lue, 3 Phoebe Hampson (16 Ella Stephens, 77), 6 Layla Proctor (17 Paris Dalton, 71), 9 Phoebie Poole, 11 Roisin Kivel (capt), 14 Katie Wilson (18 Caitlin Smith, 71), 15 Tamara Wilcock (23 Olivia Francis, 61), 19 Ellie Noble, 24 Tianna Teisar, 26 Arabella Suttie (5 Giota Papaioannou, 84). Substitutes: 21 Eilish Brogan (gk), 33 Ella Stowell (gk).

Sensational, incredible, phenomenal - just some of the words used to describe Argyle's 5-2 victory over League One leaders, Cardiff City in front of a near capacity crowd at Home Park. The Bluebirds had previously beaten the Greens comprehensively 5-0 and 4-0 in their two most recent encounters at the Cardiff City stadium and were 26 points ahead of the Pilgrims at the start of play. This was Argyle's third decisive win in a week, following their 4-0 demolition of Blackpool and 3-1 over Leyton Orient, both away.

Three goals in a six-minute spell towards the end of the first half ensured a 3-2 score at half time. Tolaj opened his account on 28 minutes; Pepple his on 31. Cardiff immediately hit back. through Kellyman, only for Pepple to respond a minute later, while Kellyman notched up his second with a clever strike just before the break, leaving the game on the edge.

But Argyle were not done. Tolaj was upended on 58 minutes and converted the penalty. And Ross put the game beyond doubt on 81 minutes when he headed in, in similar fashion to his goal at Leyton Orient on Tuesday.

Seven minutes of added time seemed an eternity, but the Greens held on for a famous win to put them on 46 points and in 11th place, with their previous negative goal difference disappearing to zero. Although Huddersfield won with a late goal from no other than Ryan Hardie, Argyle are within catching distance of the Terriers who have played one game more.

Argyle: 1 Conor Hazard, 2 Mathias Ross, 4 Brendan Wiredu (23 Bradley Ibrahim, 79), 8 Joe Edwards (capt), 9 Lorent Tolaj (10 Xavier Amaechi, 85), 15 Alex Mitchell, 17 Caleb Watts (29 Matty Sorinola, half-time), 19 Malachi Boateng, 27 Bim Pepple (35 Owen Dale, 85), 28 Ronan Curtis, 45 Wes Harding. Substitutes: 21 Luca Ashby-Hammond (gk), 3 Jack MacKenzie, 5 Julio Pleguezuelo.

Player of the match - the tireless Joe Edwards.

While one Argyle side was defeating one Welsh side at home; a second was beating another away, as the U-18s put six past Newport County, in a second-half comeback, with two in reply.

After conceding two goals from individual errors in the first 45 minutes, a half-time team talk from Head Coach Jamie Lowry seemed to fire up his side and propel them to victory just across the border.

Tegan Finn scored four, including a seven-minute hat-trick, with Sam Lord and Jared Rendle rounding out the attacking onslaught from Argyle after the break.

Lowry said: "Overall, a really good performance from us against Newport. We created lots of chances and were really good, so I'm happy. We missed a penalty and conceded two goals, due to individual errors, which was a bit disappointing, but we were superb, in control and dominant all-round.

"In the second half, we had that little bit more focus, because we were two goals down, and became more clinical. It was a great test for the lads mentally, and to come out and be frustrated and then play the right way and do the right things, which led to scoring six goals.

"I'm happy with the boys and the great performance from them. It's something to keep building on, and I think the second half showed that when we are that little bit more focused and tidier around the box, we can score a lot of goals."

Argyle: 1 Jack Flower, 2 Toby Haley, 3 Harry Shield (capt), 4 Billy Devlin, 5 Sam Hayman, 6 Lewis Flowers, 7 Tashall Sandhu (14 Trialist A, 85), 8 Sam Lord, 9 Frankie Maund (16 Jared Rendle, 85), 10 Fletcher Poole, 11 Tegan Finn. Substitutes: 23 Leo McCormick (gk), 12 Dylan Williams, 15 Harry Locke.

Goals: Finn 47, 49, 53, 88, Lord 64, Rendle 90.

Yellow card: Finn 22.

Happy birthday to two of the women players - Eilish Brogan and Olivia Francis.

The 2,600 tickets released today for Argyle's trip to Reading on 14 March have already been sold. A further allocation has been requested.

Happy 25th birthday to first-team player, Matty Sorinola.

Women's Head Coach, Marie Hourihan, was thrilled with her sides Devon Derby victory against Exeter City last night.

"I'm delighted, but it was definitely a game of two halves," Hourihan told Argyle TV. "I think, in the first half, we very much played into Exeter's hands. They were sitting in a block, came here to frustrate us, make it difficult, try to hit us on transition, and we started to force it.

"We didn't switch the ball quickly enough. Our ball speed wasn't good enough... and I think we got bogged down in that block, but we spoke about it at half-time, tweaked a couple of things, and I felt in the second half our switches of play and detail were a lot better.

"We had much better intensity in that second half, which I think really galvanised the supporters in the crowd and made it a great atmosphere. It was a great team [goal] and finish by Phoebe, and then to finish it off in the last minute with Tianna's goal was superb.

"The support tonight was amazing. The players were so excited about this game. I also think how it was pitched and supported by the club and local area was fantastic. The numbers that we had today, and that second-half atmosphere was amazing and electric.

"I really feel that it massively benefited the players and drove the players on. For the next home game against Lewes, can everybody come again, please!"

18th

Tom Cleverley expressed his delight at Argyle's second away win in four days after their 3-1 victory over Leyton Orient.

Speaking to Plymouth Live's Chris Errington, he said:

"We are in a right good moment. I think we are very good when the home teams, which always happens in this league, have to come out a little bit and leave space behind, or commit a couple of numbers forward.

"We are very effective going forward at the minute, whether that be in open play, whether that be running in behind, whether that be at set plays.

"We have still yet to really conquer the teams at home that come and sit in and make it tough to break down, and that's where we need a little bit more creativity or tempo in the game.

"That's maybe one of the reasons why the away form is better than the home form but we are growing in confidence and belief all the time.

"I'm sure these two great results on the road will make for a really good atmosphere on Saturday [against Cardiff] and we need to approach the game with the same intensity and aggression to turn around our home form."

Argyle Women triumphed in the Devon Derby in tricky wet and blustery conditions at Home Park 2-0 against local rivals, Exeter City, in front of a crowd of an estimated 6,500 plus hardy spectators.

Phoebe Hampson's spectacular strike early in the second period set the tone, with substitute Tianna Teisar sealing the result in stoppage time, just before the final whistle.

Argyle are now second in the table, one point behind Watford who have played one game fewer, but Argyle have a superior goal difference. Bournemouth lie third, having suffered defeat to Oxford this evening, but have three game in hand on the Greens.

Argyle: 1 Hermione Cull, 2 Una Lue, 3 Phoebe Hampson, 6 Layla Proctor (17 Paris Dalton, 66), 9 Phoebie Poole, 11 Roisin Kivel (capt), 14 Katie Wilson (18 Caitlin Smith, 90+2), 15 Tamara Wilcock (16 Ella Stephens, 90+2), 19 Ellie Noble, 23 Olivia Francis (24 Tianna Teisar, 45), 26 Arabella Suttie. Substitutes: 21 Eilish Brogan (gk), 33 Ella Stowell (gk), 5 Giota Papaioannou.

Goals: Hampson 65, Teisar 90+5

Booked: Poole 19, Proctor 27, Teiser 90+5

Earlier in the day, a large number of fans attended a hugely successful Celebration of Women and Girls in Sport's day at the ground, sponsored by Babcock, and in partnership with Plymouth City Council and Active Devon.

This was a free, half-term event with opportunities to discover new sports, meet local teams, and enjoy live demonstrations. Activities included wrestling, aerial hoop, pilates, dance performances, cricket, rugby, football, netball and volleyball, with many of these also offering opportunities for people to have a go themselves.

Alongside the sporting action, a dedicated Health and Wellbeing Zone offered practical advice on looking after both physical and mental health, as well as raising important awareness around violence against women and girls.

Congratulations to Argyle Women's trio Olivia Francis, Phoebie Poole and Tianna Teisar who have all been called up to Wales' first camp of 2026.

Argyle registered yet another impressive away win, the second in four days, as they beat Leyton Orient 3-1 under the lights. The Pilgrims have now won eight of the last 10 away games.

It was not surprising that Tom Cleverley chose to start with the same team that had beaten Blackpool on Saturday - the one change coming on the bench as Matty Sorinola, fresh from a suspension, replaced Bradley Ibrahim.

Herbie Kane had to be substituted after just 12 minutes with a suspected hamstring injury, to be replaced by Brendan Wiredu, while Lorent Tolaj made a welcome return coming on for Owen Dale after 59 minutes.

Bim Pepple extended his superb scoring run when he netted in first-half stoppage time, but the Greens were only ahead momentarily, with Ollie O'Neill pegging them back.

However, goals in the second period from Ronan Curtis and Mathias Ross ensured Argyle secured all three points in East London, after an impressive display.

Argyle: 1 Conor Hazard, 2 Mathias Ross, 8 Joe Edwards (capt), 15 Alex Mitchell, 17 Caleb Watts (29 Matty Sorinola, 59), 19 Malachi Boateng, 20 Herbie Kane (4 Brendan Wiredu, 12), 27 Bim Pepple (10 Xavier Amaechi, 85), 28 Ronan Curtis, 35 Owen Dale (9 Lorent Tolaj, 59), 45 Wes Harding. Substitutes: 21 Luca Ashby-Hammond (gk), 3 Jack MacKenzie, 7 Jamie Paterson.

The Argyle London Branch supporters (PASALB) held a well-attended, Meet the Manager session with Tom Cleverley in East London the night before Argyle's away tie with Leyton Orient.

Tom openly spoke about the challenges and difficulties of the season so far, and his aims and ambitions for the remaining games. He answered a number of questions from members and then presented the trophy to the winner of the PASALB Fantasy Football competition, as well as drawing the raffle prizes.

The 50/50 Lottery has generously donated 12,500 to the Argyle Women's team to help with the expenses incurred in their progress to the final of the FAWNL Cup..

Despite the sporting achievement, prize money in the competition is of a relatively low value, so the Greens' route to the final two three group games and four knockout ties, which have included trips to Bristol Rovers, Watford and Lewes has been at a financial cost.

Marie Hourihan's side will now travel to London to face AFC Bournemouth in the final of the competition on Saturday, 28 March, at Loftus Road, the home of Queens Park Rangers.

Christian Kent, Executive Lead for Women's Football at Argyle, said: "The donation from the 50/50 is a very generous gesture, and we cannot thank them enough for their support for our team ahead of our important cup final next month.

"This will help ensure that travel and preparations ahead of the game can continue at the highest of standards, so we thank them hugely for their support with this match and throughout the season."

Head Coach, Tom Cleverley, was delighted with his side's comprehensive win by the seaside yesterday.

"I thought we were outstanding today," Cleverley told Argyle TV after the game. "I thought we delivered in every phase of football - in possession, out of possession, the basics and the set plays. A really pleasing day.

"Today was a strong test passed, with flying colours."

"We've done a big piece of work on [retaining or expanding leads], a little bit on the training field, but more in meetings, addressing the mindset of being a winning team that not only takes leads, but then goes on to be in control of that and stretch the game further in our favour.

"We've set a high bar today. We keep setting high bars away from home, but not at Home Park. We really want to get this consistency that we're showing on the road back at home."

Brendan Galloway is to have surgery for a hernia problem tomorrow. The defender was unable to complete training on Friday and did not take part in Argyle's victory at Bloomfield Road yesterday. He is expected to be out for four weeks.

14th

Valentine's Day massacre at Bloomfield Road to the delight of the 1,400 travelling Green Army. In an amazing reversal of last week's four goals conceded at home, The Greens put four, three of which were in the first half with two coming in added time, past a hapless Blackpool without reply. Goals came from four different sources - Mitchell, Pepple, Boateng and Watts. Argyle now sit 12th in the League One table.

Argyle: Conor Hazard, Joe Edwards (Jack MacKenzie 71), Mathias Ross, Alex Mitchell, Owen Dale, Malachi Boateng, Herbie Kane (Brendan Wiredu 62), Wes Harding, Ronan Curtis (Bradley Ibrahim 79), Caleb Watts (Jamie Paterson 62), Aribim Pepple (Xavier Amaechi 71).

Non-playing substitutes: Luca Ashby-Hammond, Lorent Tolaj.

A second-half strike from Billy Devlin handed Argyle Under-18s three points on Saturday afternoon against Forest Green Rovers.

The Greens' midfielder struck the ball well from outside the box, into the bottom left corner of the goal, to push Jamie Lowry's side to victory in EFL Youth Alliance South play at Hartpury University.

With games being at a premium in recent times and postponements occurring more than fixtures, Argyle made sure to make the most of the match, coming out with a clean sheet as well as moving up the table.

Head Coach Lowry said: "Saturday was really good and the boys were excellent. I think we had 28 shots on goal, which shows how dominant the performance was, although the scoreline might not reflect it. It took a little longer than it perhaps should have to score the first goal and break the deadlock, but we passed the ball well from box to box and were really good.

"We lacked that little bit of final care, but it may have been caused by rustiness from the lack of games we've had, but, overall, we were all really pleased with some top displays and hopefully will get everyone going now."

Argyle: 1 Jack Flower, 2 Toby Haley, 3 Harry Shield, 4 Oscar Dean (capt), 5 Sam Hayman, 6 Lewis Flowers, 7 Tashall Sandhu, 8 Billy Devlin, 9 Frankie Maund, 10 Fletcher Poole, 11 Tegan Finn. Substitutes: 23 Leo McCormick (gk), 12 Jovan Wamani, 15 Trialist A, 16 Joel Tolcher, 17 Harry Locke.

Defender, Kornel Szucs has joined Serbian Superliga side FK Vojvodina on a permanent deal, for an undisclosed fee.

He joined Argyle in August 2024 for a fee of around 400,000, and went on to make 64 appearances for the Greens - 47 starts and 17 substitutes - in all competitions. During his time at Home Park, he also made one senior appearance for the Hungarian national team, as a late substitute in a 2-0 win away to Bosnia-Herzegovina in the UEFA Nations League in October 2024.

The departure of Szucs means that Ayman Benarous can now be registered as a member of the matchday squad.

At the same time, Freddie Issaka and Caleb Roberts are joining Truro of the National League for the rest of the season.

12th

The draw for the semi-finals of the Vertu Trophy will take place this afternoon and be broadcast on Sky Sports News from 2.30.

The semi-finals are not regionalised, so Argyle could face Doncaster, Northampton or Stockpot, should they progress by beating Luton next Tuesday. Argyle are ball number 4.

Semi-final ties will take place in the week commencing 2 March.

Argyle will have a home tie against Northampton Town if they get past Luton on 24 February.

11th

Brendan Galloway has been nominated for the Sky Bet League One Player of the Month award for January.

Our defender is nominated alongside Dom Ballard of Leyton Orient, Jack Moylan of Lincoln City, and Kyle Wootton of Stockport County.

Galloway had just two goals in his previous 86 league appearances for Argyle, prior to the start of 2026. In January, he scored two in five games and also helped Argyle keep three clean sheets in the month.

Brendan Galloway has already been named the club's CT1 Player of the Month, and he has also earned a Player of the Month nomination from the PFA.

The winner will be announced on Friday, 13 February.

10th

Ronan Curtis has won the Vertu Trophy Player of the Round award, for his three assists in our Round of 16 win over Bristol Rovers, only days after his move from Port Vale.

Curtis was voted the winner over Kamarai Swyer of Northampton Town, Billy Sharp of Doncaster Rovers, and Josh Stokes of Stockport County.

John Uzzell and Michael Evans will officially become Forever Green Icons, after a vote by supporters..

The Argyle legends complete the Class of 2026, the year of the 140th anniversary of the club. They join Paul Mariner, Graham Carey and Johnny Newman in becoming an Icon this year.

Mariner, Carey and Newman were chosen by the Forever Green panel, chaired by first-team coach Kevin Nancekivell. Supporters were then asked to choose from two lists, with Uzzell and Evans picking up the most votes from the Green Army.

Argyle's potential semi-final opponents in the Vertu Trophy have been decided. Doncaster, Stockport and Northampton won through in tonight's quarter-finals, one of whom will face the Greens should they beat Luton Town in the postponed fixture at Kenilworth Road on 24 February.

9th

Today is the anniversary of Argyle's giant-killing defeat of Liverpool in the fourth round of last year's FA Cup. A 53rd minute penalty scored by Ryan Hardie was the difference at full time.

Brendan Galloway has won the CT1 Player of the Month for January.

The defender played a vital role in a strong month for the Greens, featuring in five league games, and the second half of the Vertu Trophy win over Bristol Rovers. As well as his strong defending, Brendan also scored three goals.

He won a very close supporters' poll with 33% of the vote. Bim Pepple finished second with 29%, followed by Ronan Curtis on 27%, and Mathias Ross with 12%.

Argyle Women's Head Coach, Marie Hourihan, was disappointed as her side was held to a goalless draw on Sunday afternoon in Wales by a defensively strong Gwalia United side who are at the bottom end of the table to Argyle.

The Greens had chances, but a penalty save and a bit of luck with the crossbar meant Gwalia held on.

Hourihan felt her side had been drawn into the game plan set by the hosts, thus making the promotion challenge harder, as Watford picked up three points in a victory over Oxford United.

"We have to give Gwalia the credit today," she said. "They did everything that we thought that they would do, frustrated us and made it a very first-ball-second-ball game. We played into their hands and got sucked in, but I think the most disappointing thing for me is that, despite not playing anywhere near our capabilities, we've still created four or five clear opportunities to take this game.

"For me, the biggest takeaway is that our clinical nature and being ruthless in front of goal were certainly missing today, and ultimately, that's cost us.

"This result is a massive reality check. Last weekend was fantastic and amazing, but you've got to be consistent. If you want to win the league and cup finals, you've got to be consistent and relentless, and that's something that we are not at the moment.

"We still are a very young women's team. We've come a long way in a short space of time but, in my opinion, there's still a long way to go and we need to be better.

Argyle Academy prospects, James Sharpe and Thomas Armytage, have received call-ups to Malta's Under-17s squad and England's Under-15s squad, respectively.

Sharpe, who has featured several times for the Under-18s this season, has been invited to a Malta training camp, with the possibility of being selected as part of their squad heading to Luxembourg for two friendly games later in the month.

Young goalkeeper, Armytage, will represent the Three Lions as the only Category 3 player in the side, surrounded by top-level talent. He will join up with the rest of his teammates on Saturday, before heading out to Cyprus on Tuesday, 10 February, with the game kicking off at 11am. This will be followed by a match against the USA on 14 February at the Sotira Municipal Stadium, kicking off at 10am.

Phil Stokes, Academy Manager, said: "This is a fantastic achievement for both James and Thomas, and a testament to the hard work they put in every week on and off the pitch. We are incredibly proud of them both and everyone involved in their development, and we look forward to seeing them embrace the opportunity and experience."

The latest Project 35 collection at the recent Luton Town home game resulted in 330kg of food and 2,887 in cash.

As well as the amazing support from Argyle fans and the community, CT1 and Director, Neil Deakin, generously donated an additional 1,100 to the cause to help stock the Manadon Food Larder for those in need.

Tom Cleverley expressed his frustration at Argyle's 1-4 loss to Lincoln City yesterday afternoon.

"I'm disappointed," he said after the game. "I thought we went absolutely away from what's made us successful recently, in the second half today. Why that is, is my job to find that out; whether it was the personnel, whether it was intensity levels. But, structurally, we weren't set up well enough to play the style of football we want to play. That is: edge-of-the-seat football, front foot and aggressive.

"Don't get me wrong, we were playing against a team who's probably the best at that style of football in the league, but I thought we competed, I thought we matched them, and I thought we probably edged the first half. But, we went completely away from it in the second half.... we went back to what we were at the start of the season, which is a strange one - and it was a bit of a shock.

"Now we just have to make sure, come Tuesday when the players are back in, that we're all on the same page as to what we are and how we are effective, how we are entertaining, and how we are winning. We came far, far away from that today.

"It seems to be the curse of the goalscorer for this club at the minute. [Brendan] Galloway starts scoring and he's gone, then Pepple, and Tolly (Lorent Tolaj). The injuries are really, really hurting us at the minute. They're in key areas, they're all potential starters and it's difficult.

"We've got far too many injuries. We're asking the same guys to play every week with knocks, with niggles. We can get fitter as a group.

"I would have loved a full squad to attack these fixtures. I would have loved to have gone at this group of fixtures with our best guys available. It's been disappointing that we're not going to see where we're at in terms of what is our best level, because we've got seven, eight starters missing and it's too much."

Argyle Women have completed the dual-registration signing of goalkeeper, Ella Stowell, from WSL 2 side Bristol City. Ella goes straight into the squad for this afternoon's game at Welsh side, Gwalia United.

Ella, 17, has recently featured for Cheltenham Town and Bristol Rovers on similar deals, but has primarily been a part of Bristol City's Under-21s side, and has trained with the Robins' first team.

She is the daughter of Argyle first-team goalkeeping coach Mike Stowell, and will wear number 33 for the Greens.

Head Coach Marie Hourihan said: "We're delighted to add Ella to our goalkeeper union here at Argyle. She's a young prospect with a bright future ahead of her, something which we're delighted to help develop, and also adds some exciting talent to our squad."

At the same time, midfielder, Sienna Gilbert, has joined Marine Academy Plymouth on loan for the remainder of the season.

Argyle Women could not match last week's sensational semi-final cup win over Burnley, as they drew 0-0 at Gwalia United. Despite their dominance, the Greens could not find the goal they craved.

Argyle, who are seeking promotion out of the division, remain second in the table, but Bournemouth are not far behind, with games in hand, and a 4-3 win for Watford over Oxford United took the Hornets four points ahead of Argyle, with seven games remaining.
