Greens on Screen’s first page was published in January 1999. Its early purpose was to bring Plymouth Argyle a little closer to those unable to see their team, and whilst it has changed a great deal over the years, its core themes - sites and sounds for Westcountry exiles - still stand. The site was very lucky to take on the content of Trevor Scallan’s Semper Viridis in the summer of 2007, and in 2009 launched GoS-DB, a wealth of facts and figures from PAFC’s history. A year later we embarked on a complete history of Argyle, with much-valued contributions from chapter authors.
Greens on Screen is an amateur website and proud of it. It is run by one person as a hobby, although there have been aspects of the site over the years that would be much the poorer without the hard work and much-valued contributions of a small band of volunteers.
Greens on Screen is self-taught and as a result, a little bit quirky. Amongst a few stubborn principles, advertisements will never appear (and don’t get me started on the plague of betting promotions on other sites). It began its life before many others, including the club’s official site, when there was a large gap to be filled, and although there is now a wide variety to choose from, GoS’s sole aim, to be a service to fellow supporters, still seems to have a place.
Thanks to Dave Rowntree for many of the player images after 1984.

Born: 18 February 2004
Came from: Leeds United Went to:
First game: 13 January 2024 Last game: 02 March 2024
Appearances: 8 (8/0) Goals: 0
Born in Catford, London in February 2004, Gyabi joined Cray Wanderers' youth setup, aged just eight years old. He spent three years with the Wands before moving to Millwall in 2015 to further his development. He enjoyed another three-year stint at his new club before a new opportunity arose in 2018 when he transferred to Manchester City.
International recognition followed for the youngster in 2019 as he made two appearances for England under-15s along with eight appearances for the under-16s the following season. A debut for Manchester City under-21s in September 2020 in the EFL Trophy against Scunthorpe saw Gyabi take his first steps in his fledgling domestic career, with two more appearances in the same competition added to his belt by the turn of the year. Opportunities for the central midfielder were limited in City's setup, the 2021-22 season seeing him make just the solitary appearance in the EFL Trophy away to Doncaster, along with two games for England under-18s.
In July 2022 he moved to Leeds for a reported fee of £5 million as part of the deal that took Kalvin Phillips to the Etihad. Three matches for Leeds under-21s in the EFL Trophy preceded an EFL Cup debut as Leeds bowed out of the competition to Wolves in a 1-0 defeat. In December 2022, Gyabi made his Premier League debut for the Elland Road club in a 3-1 loss to his former employers, Manchester City, as he came off the bench in the 83rd minute. 2023 began with another cup appearance, this time at Cardiff in the FA Cup, while the remainder of the season saw him make four appearances for England under-19s. In May 2023 he was included as part of the England under-20s World Cup squad, playing and scoring in the group game against Uruguay before also featuring in the Round of 16 defeat to Italy.
On 11th January 2024, in search of game time, Gyabi became new manager Ian Foster's second signing when he joined Argyle on loan until the end of the season.
Sorry, new contributions are not accepted until the player leaves the club.
