JIMMY STORER
Full Name: James Lee Storer
Came from: Wolverhampton Wanderers Went to:
Appearances: 0 (0/0) Goals: 0
Storer, a 6ft 5in goalkeeper from Buxton, became Argyle's third signing of the 2026 summer, following Alex Hartbridge and Wes Harding. His arrival helped reshape the goalkeeping department after Luca Ashby-Hammond and Zak Baker were released, and Conor Hazard chose to join Wycombe Wanderers rather than accept a new deal.
Signing a two-year contract at Home Park with an option for a third, 21-year-old Storer had already been capped twice by the Republic of Ireland at under-19 level, both appearances coming in a June 2022 double-header against Iceland. He joined Argyle on a free transfer after eight years with Wolves, despite being contracted to Molineux for the 2026-27 season.
His senior football education began with a loan at Darlaston Town in the Northern Premier League Midlands Division, where he played 28 times between August 2024 and January 2025. A second loan followed at Chester FC in National League North, where he made 24 appearances and featured in the club's play-off campaign as the re-formed side pushed for a return to the National League.
In 2025-26 he spent a full season on loan at Greenock Morton in the Scottish Championship, playing 32 games and winning their Young Player of the Season award.
