Harding, a defender, was born in Leicester and represented Leicestershire and Rutland at athletics.
He spent his youth career with Aston Villa and, latterly, Birmingham City, signing his first professional contract, a two-year deal, in May 2015. In August 2016, he joined National League North club Alfreton Town on a month's youth loan, making three appearances. Returning to St Andrew's, he made his senior debut for the Blues in the EFL Cup in August 2017.
In total, he would go on to spend four Championship seasons with Birmingham City and make 59 appearances in total without scoring. In 2017-18, he was voted the club's Young Player of the Season.
He moved to another Championship club, Rotherham United, in August 2020 on a three-year deal for an undisclosed fee. In three seasons at the South Yorkshire club, he played 140 times and scored twice. In his middle season at the club, he received a League One runner-up medal in 2021-22 as the club bounced immediately back to the Championship after relegation to League One. He also picked up an EFL Trophy winner's medal, after the club beat Sutton United 4-2 after extra-time to claim the trophy for the second time. Harding had come on as a substitute.
In March 2021, he was one of six English-born players to receive their first call-up to the Jamaica national team, making his international debut in June 2021, in a 1-1 friendly draw with Serbia in Miki, Hyōgo, Japan. As of 2025, he had won three full caps in total, two in 2021 and a further third coming in 2024.
In July 2023, he signed for his third Championship club, Millwall. Across three seasons at the Den, he played 45 times and scored four goals. Harding then moved to Home Park in the January 2026 transfer window until the end of the season, to strengthen a defence which had seen defender Julio Pleguezuelo out with a calf injury and Brendan Galloway substituted in the league game preceding Harding's signing, at Stockport County, with a groin issue.
