OWEN OSENI
Full Name: Owen Eric Damilola Oseni
Born: 07 May 2003
Came from: St Mirren Went to:
First game: 02 August 2025 Last game: 26 August 2025
Appearances: 5 (3/2) Goals: 3
Oseni was born in Ireland and began his career as a forward in the Republic with Waterford-based Villa FC, before entering the youth side of Waterford FC as part of the Waterford & Wexford Education & Training Board, in conjunction with the FAI. He went on to make his senior debut during the 2022 season, making a total of four appearances for the Blues.
In February 2023, he moved to Derby County's under-21 academy in England whereupon he also had loan spells with Nuneaton Borough (10 games and four goals) and Rushall Olympic (15 & eight). However, he was released by County at the end of the 2023-24 season having not made a senior appearance for the Rams.
In July 2024, he then signed for National League side Gateshead on a permanent deal, signing a two-year contract. He went on to hit 13 goals in 28 appearances with the play off chasing side. His goals in the north-east drew attention from Scotland, and in January 2025, Oseni joined Scottish Premiership club St Mirren for an undisclosed fee, reported to be in the region of £120,000, on a three-and-a-half year contract, linking up with two former Waterford team-mates at the club. He made 10 appearances for the Buddies without scoring.
In June 2025, coincidentally around the same time as St Mirren boss Stephen Robinson was reportedly in the running for the Argyle job - which eventually went to Tom Cleverley - Oseni agreed to sign on at Home Park, becoming Argyle's sixth summer signing on a two-year deal for an undisclosed fee. Some media reported that Argyle paid £60,000 to St Mirren but reports north of the border suggested Argyle paid more than St Mirren's initial £120,000 outlay to bring him to Home Park. The deal did include a future sell-on clause in St Mirren's favour.
