Born in Braunton in north Devon and with Welsh ancestry, Hatch made his Football League debut for Argyle in October 2024 whilst still a second-year apprentice.
A free-scoring forward who had been playing for Argyle’s academy since the under-12s, he had also represented Wales at under-16 and 17 levels, competing in the under-17 European Championship in 2023 alongside fellow Pilgrim Freddie Issaka. Hatch later went on to play regularly for the Wales under-18 side in 2022-23.
In the week preceding his debut, in which manager Wayne Rooney had already sung his praises, the in-form teenage striker completed a hat-trick when a young Argyle side beat Elburton Villa 3-1 in the Devon St Luke's Challenge Cup first round.
Hatch was then handed his professional debut after being named as a substitute for a Championship away game at Burnley on October 1st 2024, when he came on in the 89th minute in place of Darko Gyabi.
His debut was partly a result of his form and Rooney's overtures, but also due to a training injury to loan-signing Muhamed Tijani, which ruled him out until early 2025. With Burnley loanee Michael Obafemi unable to play against his parent club, Ryan Hardie was the club's only senior striker on the night.
