Born in September 2001, in Beirut, Al Hajj moved to Sweden at a young age. A product of the youth system at Falkenbergs FF, he moved to Dutch side Heerenveen in 2018. He made his Dutch Eredivisie debut in January 2020 in a 3-1 defeat against Feyenoord. He scored his first goal for his new club in November 2021 when he came off the bench to earn them a point in a 1-1 draw against PSV Eindhoven. He earned call ups for the Swedish under-19 and under-21 sides while at Heerenveen, although most of his appearances for his club side came from the bench during his time at the Abe Lenstra Stadion as he made just 11 starts in all competitions with 56 substitute appearances.
In June 2023, Al Hajj signed for Odense Boldklub in the Danish Superliga, scoring from the penalty spot in a 2-2 draw with Randers on his debut. During a season that saw him play 29 times for OB, scoring three times in total, he also received his first call up for the senior international squad for the friendly with Estonia in January 2024 at the age of 22.
Argyle made a late move for the creative midfielder just prior to the closure of the summer 2024 transfer window, agreeing a move to the Pilgrims for an undisclosed fee. The Green Army got their first glimpse of the new signing when he came off the bench against Sunderland for his Championship bow, with his first start coming two games later, when he also scored his first goal for Argyle in a 3-1 win over Luton Town.
