Szucs, born in Miskolc, Hungary in September 2001, played his youth football at Diosgyori VTK from 2012. At the age of 17, he made his debut in a 1-0 win against Mezokovesd in the Hungarian League and almost immediately earned rave reviews. Having already featured for the Hungarian under-17 team, it was no surprise when he progressed to the under-18s, where he made ten appearances, scoring once.
Two loan spells at Kazincbarcika, where Szucs scored once in 16 appearances, split a run of games in Diosgyor's first and second teams, during which the defender played 83 times, finding the net on three occasions. In 2023, he moved to Kecskemeti where he made his debut in the Europa Conference League as his new side triumphed 2-1 over Riga FC in the first leg of the contest.
After 30 games at Kecskemeti during the 2023-24 season, Szucs was very firmly on Argyle's radar, and on August 5th the Pilgrims moved to secure his signature for an undisclosed fee. He made his debut in the League Cup at home to Cheltenham in a comfortable 3-0 win for his new team later that month, and quickly became a regular starter, forming a formidable pairing with Lewis Gibson.
His form and quick adaption to life in the Championship did not go unnoticed in his homeland, and two months later he was selected for his first senior Hungary call-up. He won his first full international cap as an 87th minute substitute in his country's 2-0 away win in a UEFA Nations League, League A / Group A3 tie against Bosnia & Herzegovina in Zenica on October 14th 2024.
