Salford-born Ogbeta was a product of the Manchester City youth system, arriving with the Citizens at the age of 10. He made his first appearance for City's under-18 team in May 2017 in a 4-2 win against Reading and progressed to make six appearances in the under-21 side in the Football League Trophy during the 2018-19 season. After being restricted to a handful of appearances in the same competition he joined League One side, Shrewsbury Town, on an 18-month deal in January 2021, making his debut in a 2-0 home win over Peterborough United. Enjoying a consistent run of games for the first time in his career, he made 27 appearances for the Shrews over the remainder of the season, scoring twice.
Ogbeta continued to impress during the 2021-22 campaign playing 35 games for Shrewsbury ahead of a January move to Swansea City, moving to the Welsh side for an undisclosed fee. A debut for the Swans followed in March before he received an international call up for England's under-20 side, playing against Germany at Colchester in a 3-1 victory. A loan move to Peterborough United in January 2023 saw him return to League One, where he made 20 appearances for the Posh, scoring once in a 2-0 home win over Derby County.
At the start of the 2023-24 season, Ogbeta joined Bolton Wanderers on a season-long loan and scored on his debut for the Trotters in a 4-1 win at Carlisle. A further 16 appearances for Bolton followed, the last of which came at Wembley as Wanderers lost out in the Play-Off final against Oxford United.
Ogbeta was released by Swansea at the end of the 2023-24 season and joined Argyle on July 1st 2024 when the summer transfer window opened. His debut for Wayne Rooney's side came at Hillsborough on the opening day of the new season.
