On This Day: 1995: After 83 appearances in green, Marc Edworthy moved to Crystal Palace, winning promotion to the Premiership with them two years later. Signed up as a youth trainee in 1991, the Barnstaple-born defender became a Home Park favourite after some top quality performances in the 94-95 season, when it was obvious that he was destined for the top flight. 2005: Two arrivals on one day; Bojan Djordjic signed from Glasgow Rangers and Anthony Barness from Bolton Wanderers. 2010: Rory Fallon became the first Argyle player to appear in the World Cup Finals, helping New Zealand draw 1-1 with Slovakia in Rustenburg, South Africa. 14th On This Day: 1999: Simon Collins moved to Macclesfield after 87 appearances (5 goals) in his 2 years at Home Park. 2004: Scottish international Steve Crawford signed from Dunfermline. He returned 6 months later for personal reasons. 2006: After much speculation and some acrimony, manager Tony Pulis handed in his resignation to re-take the helm at Stoke City. 13th Tom Cleverley was appointed Argyle Men's Head Coach one year ago today.

On This Day: 1905: Jack Vidler was born in Portsmouth. One of only a handful of Argyle players to be signed from Armed Services football, Vidler's transfer fee was effectively his Army release. He went on to play 10 seasons for Argyle and score over 100 goals (one of only six to have ever done so) before his career ended at the outbreak of the Second World War. 12th An extension to the Oncology Centre at Derriford Hospital in memory of Gordon Sparks was opened by Kevin Nancekivell and by Gordon's widow, Heather.
11th Congratulations and good luck to three former Argyle players who are involved in the World Cup - Ben Waine for New Zealand; Jerome Opuku for Ghana, and Nikola Katic for Bosnia-Herzegovina.
6th England Seniors once again won the Seniors World Cup - the 18th version - this time by beating France 4-0 in the final in Thailand. The Greens were represented by four former players - Barry Hayles, who opened the scoring, Karl Duguid who netted the fourth, David Norris and Luke McCormick, who kept yet another clean sheet.
4th Argyle are said to be interested in Bristol Rovers and Sierra Leonean international Kamil Conteh. Apparently, an initial bid has been rejected but the Greens are expected to up their offer.
Congratulations to Owen Dale and his partner, Jessica, on the birth of their daughter, Etta Lucia, at Derriford Hospital.
3rd Goalkeeper, Conor Hazard, has signed for League One rivals, Wycombe Wanderers and will join them after his contract with Argyle expires on 30 June.
Argyle have made their first signing of the 2026-27 season with defender, Alex Hartridge, joining as a free agent from Burton Albion on a two-year contract. Alex has previously played for three 'local' sides - Truro City, Torquay United and Exeter City.
Argyle are apparently interested in signing QPR goalkeeper, Murphy Cooper.
England Veterans, including David Norris, scored a decisive 3-0 victory against the USA in the Seniors World Cup, topping their group and moving onto the semi-finals on Friday.

Barry Hayles was upfront, while Luke McCormick in goal kept a clean sheet.
An email, sent from the Club's CEO, Paul Berne, to the majority of the Women's team, headed "Hi All", informed them that their contracts would not be renewed and that they were being released. This news came just days after the resignation of Head Coach, Marie Hourihan in the light of cuts to their playing budget.
The players' statement on Sunday evening, read: "The decision was communicated through a cold, impersonal email, providing us with no opportunity for open, honest or meaningful dialogue and preventing us from gaining clarity on the situation. We feel the staff and players who have given everything for the badge this season should have been treated with greater care, respect and empathy." 28th Women's Head Coach, Marie Hourihan, has resigned 'opting to pursue other opportunities'. Under her leadership the team went from narrowly avoiding relegation to a second place finish, and narrow losses in both the Cup and play-off games. It remains to be seen what changes there will be to the playing personnel and to the nature of the women's team going forward.
Striker Lorent Tolaj has made the League One team of the season in the BBC football awards. As has former Argyle central defender, Sonny Bradley, now of Lincoln City.
Argyle Women's goalkeeper, Hermione Cull, has won the FA Women's National League Southern Premier Division Golden Glove award.

25th Today is St Mauge day. Thirty years ago today, Ronnie Mauge scored the Wembley goal that beat Darlington and gave Argyle promotion to the old Division 2.

24th Argyle's first home kit is released and available for purchase. The dark green shirt has a white-trimmed V neck and mint green stripes.
Bolton Wanderers (managed by former Argyle boss, Steven Schumacher) beat Stockport County 4-1 in a sweltering League One play-off final at Wembley, meaning that the Pilgrims will have to travel to Edgeley Park again in the coming season.
Goalkeeper, Conor Hazard, is apparently wanted by Wycombe Wanderers, according to football pundit, Alan Nixon.
22nd Classic Builders are returning as Argyle's front-of-shirt sponsor for the 2026-27 season. The south-west based building firm's logo previously adorned the shirts in 2024/25.
Classic used that partnership to give back to the local community and will be doing so again in the upcoming season. Classic Builders is led by four Argyle fans; Fred Bennetton, Adam Brimacombe, Darren Wills, and Jason Battle. Fred Bennett said: "We're delighted to return as front-of-shirt sponsors... Seeing our name on the front of the home shirt last time was a dream I didn't know I had come true, so we are looking forward to it returning. We're looking forward to another exciting season at Home Park." 21st Torquay United have signed former Argyle goalkeeper, Zak Baker. The 21-year-old Academy graduate was released by the Pilgrims, having not played a first-team game.
20th Striker Owen Oseni has been called up by Nigeria for the Unity Cup tournament and the friendly games against Poland and Portugal.
19th Argyle and M.A.N. Culture's 'Stand Up, Stand Together' campaign recently won the bronze award at the 2026 Football Business Awards, in the Best Club Marketing Campaign – Non-Premier League category.
The club launched the campaign, aiming to shine a light on the reality of male violence against women and girls. The partnership began highlighting simple, everyday actions and examples of male allyship that men and boys can take to help women and girls feel safe. Only Birmingham City (Gold) and Leicester City (Silver) topped Argyle and M.A.N.
