Bremner was an Argyle loanee during the 1982-83 season. Part of a footballing family – his older brother Des being part of Aston Villa's title-winning team of 1980-81 and their UEFA cup winning team of 1981-82 – Kevin started his career in the Highland League with his hometown club Deveronvale, with whom he won the Bells Cup in 1978-79. A 27-goal season earned a trial but no contract from Celtic and he moved on to Keith from where he joined Colchester United for £40,000 in 1980.
Making a total of 95 appearances and scoring 31 goals, the Banff-born striker was also loaned to Birmingham City, Wrexham and Argyle in the 82-83 season, scoring for each. He then moved to Millwall in February 1983, achieving the rare distinction of scoring for 5 league clubs in one season. His spell at Millwall produced a similar '1 in 3' scoring record to that at Colchester before spells with Reading, Brighton, Peterborough, Dundee and lastly in the League, Shrewsbury Town.
He then became player-manager of first Brora Rangers (1992-94) and then Deveronvale (1994-5) back in the Highland League. He returned to English football with Gillingham in 1995 as Youth Team Manager, even making an appearance in Football League Trophy match later that year.
