KEITH WILLIAMS
Born: 14 January 1937
Came from: Tranmere Rovers Went to: Bristol Rovers
First game: 19 August 1961 Last game: 18 November 1961
Appearances: 10 (10/0) Goals: 4
Williams began his career as a junior at Everton but did not get an opportunity with the first team during his time at Goodison Park. He joined Tranmere Rovers in 1957 and over the next four years scored 88 goals in 161 games, a record that brought him to the attention of Argyle. He transferred to Home Park in June 1961 but could not reproduce his previous form and within six months was sold to Bristol Rovers. Two fairly productive seasons followed before Williams, along with goalkeeper Esmond Million, was caught taking a bribe to throw a match against Bradford Park Avenue. He was banned from football for life.
