Perkins was a midfielder who began his career in Burscough’s youth team before moving to the Westcountry with Crediton United. He was spotted there by Argyle and moved to Home Park on a short-term contract. Released after just a handful of appearances, he joined Stevenage Borough and went on to have a long career in non-league football, playing for Welling United, Woking, Dagenham and Redbridge, Aldershot Town, Gravesend and Northfleet and Sutton United.
