Kellock was born in Stockport in 1892 and began his career with hometown club Stockport County. He did not make any first team appearances for the club however, and moved to France, playing for St Brieux immediately before joining Argyle in February 1913. An inside or outside-left, the club handbook explained that "he has had considerable experience both in England and France" and that he is "a most prolific goal getter".

Kellock made only a few appearances at Home Park before the outbreak of war put his career on hold, although he did return to former club Stockport County as a wartime guest during the 1915-16 and 1918-19 seasons. He also guested for Burnley during the conflict, scoring 14 times in 21 games. At the cessation of hostilities he returned to Plymouth and was the club's top scorer during the 1919-20 campaign. However, he could not keep his place in the team when Argyle entered the Football League the following season and in the summer of 1921 he left Home Park for Aberdare Athletic, where he scored 4 goals in 15 appearances. In 1922 he joined Barrow, netting 12 times in 29 games, before returning to Plainmoor, where he finished as top goalscorer in the 1923–24 and 1924–25 seasons and ended his career.

Kellock did not go to Torquay United in 1921. He signed for Aberdare direct from Argyle (ref: WMN 4/8/21), played there in 1921/22, at Barrow 1922-23, two successful seasons at Torquay United 1923-25 and the went to Green Waves.

Hi Jon - just to reply, thanks for your submission. I think our info in all likelihood came from 'Football League Players' Records 1888-1939' by Michael Joyce (ISBN 1-899468-67-6). That lists Torquay Town - as they then were - after his spell at Argyle but gives no appearance data (as Joyce only records Football League appearances and at that stage Torquay had yet to be elected in). However sometimes a blank is also shown for appearances if they literally made zero appearances regardless of how long they stayed at that club, or it could have been a short-term move, possibly a trial.
