NICKY HAMMOND

Came from: Swindon Town Went to: Reading
First game: 12 August 1995 Last game: 07 November 1995

Hammond started his career as an apprentice at Arsenal but did not make an appearance in his two years with the club. After short loan spells with Bristol Rovers, Peterborough United and Aberdeen, he was released and joined Swindon Town. He spent nearly eight years with Swindon but made less than 100 appearances between the posts, partly due to twice suffering a broken leg. Moving to Argyle in August 1995, he finished on the losing side in all seven appearances for the club, including the first six games of the 1995-96 promotion season. Hammond joined Reading, initially on loan, midway through the season and spent four years with the club before a back injury forced his retirement.
