ALBERT FISHWICK
Full Name: Albert Edward Fishwick
Came from: Chorley Went to: Blackpool
First game: 10 November 1923 Last game: 24 January 1925
Appearances: 7 (7/0) Goals: 1
Like Paul Mariner 50 years later, Fishwick arrived at Home Park from Chorley, where he had started his career in non-league football. Unlike his illustrious counterpart, the inside-right found the step-up difficult and chances few and far between, making just seven appearances across the next two seasons and scoring once. Returning to Lancashire, he signed for Blackpool, where he netted an impressive 36 times after barely over a half century of games in two years. Moving to Vale Park in 1927, he then spent three years with Port Vale, followed by another three with Tranmere Rovers before finishing his career back where it had started, with Chorley.
