A former Ivybridge Community College pupil, Finn joined the club's Academy in the under-9 age group after progressing through the club's pre-academy and Plymouth Centre of Excellence. He scored 15 goals for Argyle under-18s in the 2023-24 season as they won both the EFL Youth Alliance South West Division and Merit League One titles.
With new Argyle manager Wayne Rooney keen to give youth a chance, and with perhaps a more watchful eye than most on developing forwards, the highly-rated first-year apprentice started to be integrated and train full-time with the senior squad.
Under Rooney, Finn was included in the Pilgrims' pre-season training camp in Spain in the summer of 2024. He made a favourable impression but then suffered a wrist injury which took him until that September to recover from and get back to full fitness. When not on the fringes of the first-team, Finn continued to be selected to play in the club's under-18 games.
His progress was rewarded when, at 16 years and 230 days, he became the Pilgrims' sixth youngest-ever player when he made his EFL debut as a late substitute in the 3-0 defeat by Leeds United at Elland Road at the start of November 2024, in front of a watching 36,066. Quite a step-up!
