Greens on Screen started its life in 1999 before many of the football sites that we are familiar with today, including Plymouth Argyle's own official site. Greens on Screen is dedicated to the sights, sounds and history of Plymouth Argyle Football club. It is owned and run by the Plymouth Argyle Heritage Archive, a charity dedicated to the promotion, preservation, and display of the heritage of our great football club.

The site owes its existence to Steve Dean.Without Steve's dedication and commitment for over 25 years, GoS would not exist and be the valued and loved resource for all football fans that it is today. The site is truly the envy of many clubs, and we owe a huge debt to Steve for his tireless work, and continued support behind the scenes.

Greens on Screen's first page was published in January 1999. Its early purpose was to bring Plymouth Argyle a little closer to those unable to see their team, and whilst it has changed a great deal over the years, its core themes - sights and sounds for Westcountry exiles - still stand. The site was very lucky to take on the content of Trevor Scallan's Semper Viridis in the summer of 2007, and in 2009 launched GoS-DB, a wealth of facts and figures from PAFC's history. A year later, we embarked on a complete history of Argyle, with much-valued contributions from chapter authors. Greens on Screen was taken over by its new custodians, The Argyle Archive, in 2024.

Greens on Screen is an amateur website and proud of it. It is run by a team of volunteers from the Plymouth Argyle Heritage Archive (Argyle Archive). Without the hard work and much-valued contributions of these volunteers, running the site would not be possible. Greens on Screen is self-taught and as a result, a little bit quirky.

Greens on Screen remains advertisement free, which means we are grateful for the generous support of our donors and the work of our volunteers to help keep it free of promotions. London-born Azaz became the Pilgrims’ third acquisition of the 2022 close season when he arrived on a season-long loan from Aston Villa.

Azaz entered the youth system at West Bromwich Albion at the age of nine, and nine years later, in July 2019, he signed his first professional contract. Twelve months on, he began a season-long loan at Cheltenham Town, where he played 44 times and helped the Robins to top the 2020-21 League Two table.

In July 2021 the highly regarded prospect disappointed Baggies' fans by joining local rivals Aston Villa, and was immediately sent on loan to Newport County. With seven goals in 45 appearances, he impressed so much at Rodney Parade that he was named the League Two Young Player of the Season, and was also rewarded with a place in the division's Team of the Season.

The 21-year-old midfielder arrived at Home Park in July 2022 and was described as 'creative and exciting' as he began his third consecutive season away from his parent club. It didn't take long for him to make his mark as he scored the crucial goal for Argyle in their opening day home win against Barnsley. By the time Azaz suffered a broken ankle against Shrewsbury in October 2022, he had added a further five goals and numerous assists to his tally including a brace at MK Dons and a goal of the season contender at Bristol Rovers. He returned to action at Ipswich in mid-January and added two more goals before the end of the season including the final goal of the campaign as Argyle secured the League One title at Port Vale.

Azaz returned to Argyle at the start of the 2023-24 season, once again on a season-long loan. He swiftly re-established himself as one of the team's most consistent performers in a free-scoring lineup that allowed him to regularly showcase his creativity. Classy strikes against Norwich and Middlesbrough endeared him further to the Home Park faithful while a wonder goal on New Year's Day against Watford raised his already prolific profile further. To the dismay of the Green Army, two days later, Azaz was recalled to Villa Park amid rumours of a permanent move to Middlesbrough, ending an 18-month stint with the Pilgrims that saw him contribute 15 goals and 15 assists in 66 appearances.
