Greens on Screen started its life in 1999 before many of the football sites that we are familiar with today, including Plymouth Argyle's own official site. Greens on Screen is dedicated to the sights, sounds and history of Plymouth Argyle Football club. It is owned and run by the Plymouth Argyle Heritage Archive, a charity dedicated to the promotion, preservation, and display of the heritage of our great football club.

The site owes its existence to Steve Dean. Without Steve's dedication and commitment for over 25 years, GoS would not exist and be the valued and loved resource for all football fans that it is today. The site is truly the envy of many clubs, and we owe a huge debt to Steve for his tireless work, and continued support behind the scenes.

Greens on Screen's first page was published in January 1999. Its early purpose was to bring Plymouth Argyle a little closer to those unable to see their team, and whilst it has changed a great deal over the years, its core themes - sights and sounds for Westcountry exiles - still stand. The site was very lucky to take on the content of Trevor Scallan's Semper Viridis in the summer of 2007, and in 2009 launched GoS-DB, a wealth of facts and figures from PAFC's history. A year later, we embarked on a complete history of Argyle, with much-valued contributions from chapter authors. Greens on Screen was taken over by its new custodians, The Argyle Archive, in 2024.

Greens on Screen is an amateur website and proud of it. It is run by a team of volunteers from the Plymouth Argyle Heritage Archive (Argyle Archive). Without the hard work and much-valued contributions of these volunteers, running the site would not be possible. Greens on Screen is self-taught and as a result, a little bit quirky.

Greens on Screen remains advertisement free, which means we are grateful for the generous support of our donors and the work of our volunteers to help keep it free of promotions. STUART O'KEEFE

Born in Eye, Suffolk, O'Keefe joined Ipswich Town's youth setup at the age of nine. Seven years later, he moved to Southend United and, in his second season at Roots Hall, signed his first professional contract. The following week, in November 2008, he made his first team debut as a late substitute in the first round of the FA Cup, with his first experience of the Football League coming two months later in League One.

Hampered by a hernia operation in 2010, O'Keefe played in a total of 13 first-team games for Southend before his release that summer. In August 2010, he signed for Crystal Palace, initially in the Championship and then played 14 games in the Premier League. In all, he made 51 appearances (1 goal) for Palace and also played four times for Blackpool during a one-month loan spell at the end of 2014.

On his return from Bloomfield Road, he was released by Palace and later in that January transfer window joined Cardiff City. In the three years before becoming a temporary Pilgrim, O'Keefe played 45 times (2 goals) for the Championship club and also had loan spells in League One with MK Dons for the second half of the 2016-17 season (18 games, 4 goals), followed by a near full season with Portsmouth (25 games, 2 goals).

Described by a former Cardiff manager as "a hard-working, energetic, athletic midfield player", O'Keefe arrived at Home Park on a half-season loan in late August 2018, courtesy of Cardiff and former Argyle manager, Neil Warnock. With a mixed bag of starts and substitute appearances for the Pilgrims, the 27-year-old never really established himself in a difficult part of the 2018-19 League One campaign. An Achilles injury saw him return to Cardiff for treatment in December 2018, effectively ending his time at Home Park.

He was released by Cardiff at the end of the 2018-19 season, and in June 2019, he signed for Gillingham, where he spent four seasons with the club in League One, playing 131 games and bagging five goals.

Upon leaving Kent at the end of the 2022-23 season, he signed for National League side Aldershot Town and was named captain ahead of the new season, in which he made 22 appearances before being released.

In June 2024, he returned to Kent to sign for ambitious Isthmian League Premier Division side Chatham Town ahead of the 2024-25 season. In total, he played 17 times, scoring once for the club, before being released at the end of that campaign.
