Greens on Screen started its life in 1999 before many of the football sites that we are familiar with today, including Plymouth Argyle's own official site. Greens on Screen is dedicated to the sights, sounds and history of Plymouth Argyle Football club. It is owned and run by the Plymouth Argyle Heritage Archive, a charity dedicated to the promotion, preservation, and display of the heritage of our great football club.

The site owes its existence to Steve Dean.Without Steve's dedication and commitment for over 25 years, GoS would not exist and be the valued and loved resource for all football fans that it is today. The site is truly the envy of many clubs, and we owe a huge debt to Steve for his tireless work, and continued support behind the scenes.

Greens on Screen's first page was published in January 1999. Its early purpose was to bring Plymouth Argyle a little closer to those unable to see their team, and whilst it has changed a great deal over the years, its core themes - sights and sounds for Westcountry exiles - still stand. The site was very lucky to take on the content of Trevor Scallan's Semper Viridis in the summer of 2007, and in 2009 launched GoS-DB, a wealth of facts and figures from PAFC's history. A year later, we embarked on a complete history of Argyle, with much-valued contributions from chapter authors. Greens on Screen was taken over by its new custodians, The Argyle Archive, in 2024.

Greens on Screen is an amateur website and proud of it. It is run by a team of volunteers from the Plymouth Argyle Heritage Archive (Argyle Archive). Without the hard work and much-valued contributions of these volunteers, running the site would not be possible. Greens on Screen is self-taught and as a result, a little bit quirky.

Greens on Screen remains advertisement free, which means we are grateful for the generous support of our donors and the work of our volunteers to help keep it free of promotions. ROBBERT TE LOEKE

Born in Arnhem in the Netherlands, te Loeke began his football at the age of five with SML in his home town. In 2004 the 15-year-old joined the youth academy at FC Utrecht, 40 miles away, and two years later came a life-changing opportunity to join Werder Bremen in Germany. However, a registration dispute with his former club left him on the sidelines and ultimately saw his two-year contract at Bremen terminated after just eight months.

After seven months without a club, the 6ft 4in goalkeeper signed for Dutch First Division (second tier) side SC Cambuur in 2008. In July 2010 he played for Cambuur in a pre-season 3-3 draw with Peter Reid's Argyle, who were on a three-match tour of the Netherlands. A year later he made his senior debut, at the age of 22, the first of 18 appearances for Cambuur before leaving to join second-tier rivals SC Veendam in 2012. The move was not a success; within a year Veendam were declared bankrupt and te Loeke was without a club.

In the summer of 2013 he enjoyed a tough pre-season training schedule with Derek Adams at Ross County, but that August signed for FC Dordrecht back in his home country's second tier. He played 41 times in three campaigns for Dordrecht, including three games in the Dutch top tier after his side's short-lived promotion.

In July 2016 he joined yet another Dutch second-tier rival, this time a 12-month contract with Achilles '29, for whom he kept goal 39 times but could not prevent his side's relegation to the Dutch Second Division (third tier).

In June 2017 the 28-year-old shot-stopper became Derek Adams' sixth summer signing and Argyle's third Dutch capture, following in the footsteps of Eric van Rossum (1992) and Marcel Seip (2006). However, troubled by a persistent back injury, te Loeke went on to play just two games for Argyle and was released by the club at the end of the 2017–18 season. He later called time on his professional career, stating that injuries had made his dream move to England a horror story.
