Greens on Screen started its life in 1999 before many of the football sites that we are familiar with today, including Plymouth Argyle's own official site. Greens on Screen is dedicated to the sights, sounds and history of Plymouth Argyle Football club. It is owned and run by the Plymouth Argyle Heritage Archive, a charity dedicated to the promotion, preservation, and display of the heritage of our great football club.

The site owes its existence to Steve Dean.Without Steve's dedication and commitment for over 25 years, GoS would not exist and be the valued and loved resource for all football fans that it is today. The site is truly the envy of many clubs, and we owe a huge debt to Steve for his tireless work, and continued support behind the scenes.

Greens on Screen's first page was published in January 1999. Its early purpose was to bring Plymouth Argyle a little closer to those unable to see their team, and whilst it has changed a great deal over the years, its core themes - sights and sounds for Westcountry exiles - still stand. The site was very lucky to take on the content of Trevor Scallan's Semper Viridis in the summer of 2007, and in 2009 launched GoS-DB, a wealth of facts and figures from PAFC's history. A year later, we embarked on a complete history of Argyle, with much-valued contributions from chapter authors. Greens on Screen was taken over by its new custodians, The Argyle Archive, in 2024.

Greens on Screen is an amateur website and proud of it. It is run by a team of volunteers from the Plymouth Argyle Heritage Archive (Argyle Archive). Without the hard work and much-valued contributions of these volunteers, running the site would not be possible. Greens on Screen is self-taught and as a result, a little bit quirky.

Greens on Screen remains advertisement free, which means we are grateful for the generous support of our donors and the work of our volunteers to help keep it free of promotions. ANDRES GURRIERI

Gurrieri was born in Winterthur, Switzerland in 1989, but holds dual Argentine and Italian citizenship. He began his career with Italian Serie B side Ternana, progressing from the youth team and reserves to make six first team appearances for the club. A tricky winger, he spent the 2008-09 campaign on loan at Colligiana, playing sixteen games in the fourth tier of the Italian league. Following his release by Ternana in May 2010 he signed for Uruguayan side Sud America and played 20 times during his single season with the team.

In July 2011 he joined Argyle on trial, but despite impressing, Peter Reid was unable to complete his signing due to the constraints of the administration process. In the October, after spending some time with Bournemouth, he joined Burton Albion after a successful month-long trial period, during which he played in a number of reserve team and friendly matches. An initial three-month deal was later extended to the end of the season. He played fourteen times for the Brewers, including against Argyle at Home Park. Gurrieri was released by Burton at the end of the season and he returned to Argyle for a second trial in July 2012, agreeing a twelve-month contract with manager Carl Fletcher shortly afterwards.

The popular and industrious utility player became the first South American to play for the club, and was used regularly by Carl Fletcher as Argyle continued to battle for their Football League lives. Having initially failed to impress new manager John Sheridan, Gurrieri again became an established choice under his second Home Park manager and in total made 68 appearances and scored 5 goals. At the end of the 2013-14 season, he was offered a further one-year contract extension but declined and returned to Argentina with his family.

In July 2014 he signed for Argentinian side Club Social y Deportivo Tristan Suarez on an 18-month contract. The club, based in the Greater Buenos Aires area, played at that time in the Primera B Metropolitana league. Within a month of the season's start, Gurrieri's involvement with his new club was curtailed after a serious cruciate and medial ligament injury that required surgery and rehabilitation.

In September 2016, having recovered from injury, Gurrieri signed for Club Sportivo Italiano in Ciudad Evita, part of Greater Buenos Aires, to play in the Argentine Primera C league (4th tier of Argentine football). He later moved on to fellow Primera C league side Club Sportivo Italiano, also based in the capital.

He left Club Sportivo Italiano and retired from professional football in 2017.
