Penzance-born Halls joined the Greens as an under-10 at the Cornwall Centre of Excellence, and later undertook four-hour round trips to Plymouth to train three times a week whilst a pupil at Mounts Bay Academy in Penzance.
The tall centre-back twice represented Argyle's academy in Northern Ireland at the annual SuperCupNI competition, and progressed to become a regular in the Pilgrims' under-18 side, whilst still 16.
In November 2021, on his 17th birthday, Halls signed his first professional deal at the club. The teenage defender's childhood dreams came true a second time when he made his debut for the senior side in the EFL Trophy match at home to Bristol Rovers in August 2022, the first of regular first-team appearances in that competition that season.
In 2024 Halls moved Stateside to join Loyola Greyhounds, the soccer team of Loyola University, Maryland for their 2024 roster.
