THE SEASON IN PICTURES
Included in Greens on Screen's 51 match pages this season were 3,980 photos, 32 mini-videos, and, with special thanks to Gordon Sparks and BBC Radio Devon, 239 commentary and summary clips.
Here's a selection of 100 from nearly 4,000 photos, telling the story of the season
Thank goodness there was stability in the boardroom, but below stairs, was this the most turbulent season ever? It all started so brightly; the very popular cheeky chappie was in charge and an opening day victory at an eventual promotion side signalled real hope. Where it all went wrong, perhaps we'll never know but within three months, Ian Holloway had left for 'a bigger club' and Paul Sturrock, hero of the decade, was back in the hot seat. The fans worst fears were realised in January when 'star players' left to pursue their dreams, the only consolation for the club: three 7-figure fees. But Sturrock steadied the ship, and even managed to break the transfer-paid record before guiding his team to a very respectable top-half position (in stark contrast to Ollie's fortunes). With the play-offs finally out of sight, Luggy announced his bold decision to bid farewell to four of his most senior men, including captain Paul Wotton, a true club legend. If that wasn't enough for one year, the Japanese announcement suggests we have interesting times ahead. There's never a dull moment, being Green.
