Dublin-born Judge joined Argyle for two loan spells from Blackburn Rovers. His initial stay was for the second half of the 2008-09 campaign and he returned for the entire following season. A Republic of Ireland under-21 international who also represented his country at all youth levels, he was a product of the Blackburn academy and played primarily as a wide or attacking midfielder. He was a skilful and whole-hearted player who was a firm favourite of the Argyle crowd during his time with the club, and always gave maximum effort to add to his undoubted ability.
With Argyle relegated from the Championship, Judge returned to Blackburn Rovers at the end of his second spell. In August 2010 he signed for Notts County on loan for six months, and with the deal due to end at the beginning of January 2011, County signed him for a further month to allow a two-year deal to be finalised. In total he made 112 appearances and scored 17 times for the Magpies.
At the end of his contract, Judge returned for a second spell at his first club, Blackburn Rovers (who were a Championship club by then), signing a three-year deal in July 2013. He went on to make 12 appearances during the 2013–14 season, scoring one goal. In January 2014 he was loaned to Brentford and that summer the deal was converted to a three-year contract.
