LEE MAKEL
Born: 11 January 1973
Came from: Livingston Went to: Dunfermline Athletic
First game: 21 August 2004 Last game: 11 December 2004
Appearances: 19 (13/6) Goals: 0
Having started his career as a trainee with Newcastle United, Makel moved to Blackburn for £160,000 whilst still a teenager, where he spent three years but was unable to break into the first team. A transfer to Huddersfield Town followed and he played fairly regularly there for two and a half years before a move to Heart of Midlothian. Makel helped Hearts win the Scottish Cup in 1998 and also had a loan spell with Portsmouth before returning to England on a short-term contract basis with Bradford City. He then joined Livingston and over the next three years helped them win the League Cup and qualify for the UEFA Cup.
After arriving at Home Park he soon established himself in the team, playing primarily on the left side of midfield, but after just 6 months at the club he requested a move back to Scotland, citing family problems. Argyle sold him to Dunfermline, where he spent two years before returning to Livingston for another two seasons. He went on to play in Sweden as player-coach for Ostersunds FK, before a brief spell back in Scotland with East Fife and then a return to Ostersunds.
