Local lad Arundel signed for Argyle from Devon non-League side Oak Villa in 1956. The dream move never really materialised and he left for Torquay United after just four appearances in three years at Home Park. Following two years at Plainmoor he joined Minehead.

Played a few games of football with Chick in the mid 1980s, still a brilliant player even when in his late forties, superb crosser of a ball with his left foot. He played a bit of cricket as well and was an excellent local snooker player, I believe he did some coaching with Andy Hicks who reached the World Snooker Championship semi-finals in the 1990s. Chick collapsed and died at home tragically young, a sad loss for local sport in general.
