Francis Cassidy was a young midfielder who joined Argyle on loan from Watford in the 1983-84 season as part of a double loan that also saw Neil Price arrive. Cassidy had made just a single appearance for Watford and was struggling to make a breakthrough into Graham Taylor's outfit when he moved to Home Park. He made his debut in an Associate Members' Cup match against Torquay in February 1984 and his solitary league appearance came in the following month against Brentford. His Watford colleague's Argyle career followed the same two matches before both returned to Vicarage Road. Later in 1984, without adding to his solitary Watford appearance, Cassidy joined Peterborough United where he remained for two seasons, prior to moving into non-league football with Bishop's Stortford.
