Born in London, Ijaha began his career with Chelsea's Academy before continuing his apprenticeship at Wolverhampton Wanderers, where he played for the various youth teams and eventually the reserve side. In June 2010 he was released by Wolves and, after a brief trial at Staines Town, signed for former Spurs midfielder David Howell at Harrow Borough. A year later he followed his boss to St Albans City, where he was made first team captain. After nine goals in 66 appearances at St Albans, he joined Tonbridge Angels, scoring on his debut on New Year's Day 2013.
Eighteen months later, after relegation at Tonbridge, Ijaha joined Hayes & Yeading under ex-Ireland international Phil Babb, whilst also working as a personal trainer. In October 2014 he left Hayes after only two months to accept better terms at Whitehawks in Brighton & Hove, where he worked with Argyle's assistant manager, Craig Brewster. Whilst with the Hawks, Ijaha helped the Conference League South club to the second round of the FA Cup before losing out to Dagenham & Redbridge.
In July 2016 the powerful central midfielder became Derek Adams' 12th capture of the summer, following a successful trial at Home Park, which included a start in the Pilgrims' first pre-season match at St Blazey.
