Greens on Screen started its life in 1999 before many of the football sites that we are familiar with today, including Plymouth Argyle's own official site. Greens on Screen is dedicated to the sights, sounds and history of Plymouth Argyle Football club. It is owned and run by the Plymouth Argyle Heritage Archive, a charity dedicated to the promotion, preservation, and display of the heritage of our great football club.

The site owes its existence to Steve Dean.Without Steve's dedication and commitment for over 25 years, GoS would not exist and be the valued and loved resource for all football fans that it is today. The site is truly the envy of many clubs, and we owe a huge debt to Steve for his tireless work, and continued support behind the scenes.

Greens on Screen's first page was published in January 1999. Its early purpose was to bring Plymouth Argyle a little closer to those unable to see their team, and whilst it has changed a great deal over the years, its core themes - sights and sounds for Westcountry exiles - still stand. The site was very lucky to take on the content of Trevor Scallan's Semper Viridis in the summer of 2007, and in 2009 launched GoS-DB, a wealth of facts and figures from PAFC's history. A year later, we embarked on a complete history of Argyle, with much-valued contributions from chapter authors. Greens on Screen was taken over by its new custodians, The Argyle Archive, in 2024.

Greens on Screen is an amateur website and proud of it. It is run by a team of volunteers from the Plymouth Argyle Heritage Archive (Argyle Archive). Without the hard work and much-valued contributions of these volunteers, running the site would not be possible. Greens on Screen is self-taught and as a result, a little bit quirky.

Greens on Screen remains advertisement free, which means we are grateful for the generous support of our donors and the work of our volunteers to help keep it free of promotions. Griffiths, born in Bury St Edmunds, began his career with Ipswich Town having been spotted playing for local team Cornard Dynamos. He progressed through the Ipswich academy system and signed a 12-month professional deal in April 2010. A midfielder, he made his debut as a substitute in a League Cup tie in October 2010 but a back injury then kept him out for the next couple of months. During his time at Portman Road he was team-mates with another future Argyle signing, Conor Hourihane. He was offered a six-month contract extension by manager Paul Jewell at the end of the 2010-11 campaign and joined Argyle on a one-month loan in August 2011, reuniting with Hourihane.

Griffiths' first few days at Home Park were quite a baptism of fire; he made his debut (along with Simon King) in the away match at Burton Albion, the day following a strike threat when the players initially refused to board the team coach after more missed wage payments, in 2011's painful period of administration. In all he made nine appearances for the club before his loan spell was terminated and he returned to Ipswich Town following a red card for Argyle whilst playing up front at Cheltenham in November 2011. He was released by the Suffolk club when his contract expired in December 2011, and after trials with Colchester United and Gillingham, he rejected a contract offer from Conference National new-boys Braintree Town before moving to Isthmian League Division One North side AFC Sudbury.

Unable to break regularly into Sudbury’s first team, he was released in May 2012 and then signed a two-year contract with financially-troubled Southern League Premier Division side Kettering Town in October 2012. He played over 30 times for the Poppies and scored three goals before being released as the club's financial woes worsened (which must have given Griffiths quite a déjà vu feeling).

In July 2014 he returned to his East Anglian roots to sign for Long Melford in Division One of the Eastern Counties League.

Having scored an impressive 56 goals in 77 games for the Suffolk side, Griffiths suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury in a pre-season friendly in August 2016, which kept him on the sidelines for the whole of the 2016-17 season.

In June 2017, Griffiths opted to join Isthmian Football League side Needham Market.
